Je suis professeur agrégé à l’Université McGill, directeur du laboratoire de graphisme et d’imagerie de McGill et titulaire de la Chaire de recherche industrielle Ubisoft/ NSERC sur les Expériences de Personnages Virtuels Réalistes (NSERC/Ubisoft Industrial Research Chair in Believable Virtual Character Experiences). Je suis très intéressé par la synthèse d’images réalistes pour la réalité virtuelle, la simulation et le contrôle de fluides, la fabrication numérique, l’optique augmentée par ordinateur et le traitement de la géométrie. Mon travail repose principalement sur le développement de nouvelles méthodes basées sur la chaîne de Markov et la méthode Monte-Carlo, sur l’application de l’apprentissage automatique aux médias visuels et sur l’utilisation des statistiques informatiques pour résoudre des problèmes complexes d’intégration multidimensionnelle.
