Mila Welcomes Five New Members to its Academic Cohort

Mila–Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute announces the nomination of five new faculty members.

We are pleased to welcome Samira Ebrahimi Kahou (ÉTS), Foutse Khomh (Polytechnique Montréal), Guillaume Dumas (UdeM), Pouya Bashivan (McGill) and Catherine Régis (UdeM) as Associate Academic Members. 

These high-calibre researchers will certainly enrich Mila's dynamic ecosystem, as they come from diverse academic backgrounds, ranging from the legal sector and software engineering to computational psychiatry. Their arrival further strengthens Mila's commitment to advancing research through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Finally, Pascal Vincent, former Core Academic Member at Mila, will now serve as Core Industry Member after having accepted a full-time research scientist position at Facebook AI Research (FAIR). His new role will allow him to continue to be a part of Mila’s dynamic family and actively participate in its mission to be a global centre for scientific advancement that inspires innovation and the growth of AI for the benefit of all.
