Mila partners with HomePorter to improve home services through the use of AI

Toronto, February 27, 2024 — Mila is pleased to partner with HomePorter, a venture-backed home services startup company based in Toronto, Ontario. The aim of this partnership will be to develop AI tools to augment virtual home maintenance consultations, and more broadly to access Mila’s resources and expertise to expand HomePorter’s AI capabilities.

HomePorter combines advanced AI and expert insights to enhance the overall homeownership journey. At its core is the Virtual HomeCare (VHC) platform, a revolutionary solution built on WebRTC technology and enriched with domain-specific AI capabilities for home assessments, preventive maintenance, and other specialized solutions. This platform facilitates virtual consultations between homeowners and vetted home professionals, ensuring that users efficiently receive expert advice tailored to their needs.  

This partnership will be an opportunity to refine HomePorter’s existing technology and broaden their AI capacities through research and training with Mila’s vast pool of AI expertise.
