MONTREAL, February 27, 2026 - Mila is proud to have welcomed Mr. Jean Boulet, Quebec Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Ms. Chantal Rouleau, Minister Responsible for Social Solidarity and Community Action and Minister Responsible for the Metropolis and the Montréal Region, as well as Ms. Céline Haytayan, Member of the National Assembly for Laval-des-Rapides and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister, portfolios of Artificial Intelligence, the Quantum Sector, Science and Innovation, on the occasion of the announcement of $36 million in support for Mila, which will serve to strengthen its network of university excellence in AI, as well as the training and attraction of talent.

Thanks to this support, Mila can continue its activities aimed at accelerating investment and the adoption of AI innovations in business, while consolidating Quebec's role as a leader in the ethical and responsible development of this technology. This support helps strengthen Mila's capacity to multiply concrete collaborations and to showcase Quebec expertise, both here and internationally.

By investing in AI research and training, a cross-cutting field, the government is helping to support the growth of strategic sectors such as aerospace, life sciences, quantum, and security and defence, by building on a skilled workforce and strong bridges between academia and the business world.
