Montreal, QC - October 3, 2024 - Mila is proud to announce a partnership with Bioeureka, a pioneering startup aimed at transforming microbiology through artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted pathogen identification.

Through this partnership, both organizations aim to make a contribution towards addressing the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance. Bioeureka uses AI to rapidly detect pathogens, improving efficiency, cost, and accessibility of essential tools in the field. These solutions could play a considerable role in efficiently and affordably supporting public health and food safety on a wide scale.

“This partnership with Mila is a crucial step in our journey to revolutionize pathogen identification,” said Mohamed M. Diallo, co-founder and CEO of Bioeureka, ”Our AI-assisted technology addresses the urgent need for rapid, reliable and cost-effective pathogen testing in a variety of sectors, including healthcare and the food industry.”

“AI holds enormous potential to drive the design, development, and deployment of solutions to improve public and global health. Mila is proud to welcome Bioeureka to its community of partners,”  said Stéphane Létourneau, Executive Vice President of Mila.

Founded in 2022, Bioeureka set out to develop an AI-based pathogen recognition solution for laboratories. Bioeureka officially launched its app in April 2023, a portable solution which uses a smartphone or computer to detect pathogens quickly and accurately. Today, Bioeureka continues to innovate and grow, with the aim of becoming the standard tool for microbiology laboratories worldwide, including in developing countries and remote areas.
