Sean Spinney

My research is mainly focused on developing a better understanding of human decision making and brain development, mainly through methods drawn from the field of reinforcement learning, with the hopes of transferring this knowledge to the production of more neuro-inspired AI. Before joining Mila, I completed my bachelor in mathematics at Université de Montréal and joined Patricia Conrod’s lab at the Sainte-Justine hospital. During my studies, I’ve collaborated on various projects involving the study of adolescent brain development, effects of substance abuse, and psychopathologies.
