Biography

Marie-Paule Jeansonne is the Vice-President of Strategy, Impact and Sustainability at Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute. Prior to joining Mila, she founded Forum IA Québec, whose mission is to mobilize the many players in Quebec's AI ecosystem. She then served as its President and Chief Executive Officer.

She has a master’s degree in international affairs from SIPA (Columbia University) and a Bachelor of Laws from Université de Montréal.

From 2016 to 2018, she worked on developing public policies on research, science and innovation for the Quebec government. In this role, she contributed to early efforts to build a Quebec AI ecosystem, including the elaboration of the Québec Life Sciences Strategy and the Québec Research and Innovation Strategy.

She also sits on the Board of Directors of Génome Québec and is a member of Canada’s Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence.
