Audrey Sedal, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, leads the MACRObotics (Mechanics, Actuation, Computation for Robotics) group, where she focuses on creating innovative tools and techniques to enhance robot safety, capabilities, and morphological intelligence. Her current research includes automated design and control of soft and stretchable robots, biodegradable material development for soft robots, and simulation. Prof. Sedal earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2020. She also holds an SB in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Alongside her research, Prof. Sedal acts as an associate editor for IEEE ICRA (International Conference on Robotics and Automation) and the Robotics: Science and Systems conference.
