Student Ph.D., Université de Montréal

I am interested in making deep learning methods more robust out-of-distribution.

I am a PhD student at Mila supervised by Aaron Courville, with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University Politehnica of Bucharest supervised by Marius Leordeanu. Previously I worked in an great research team at Bitdefender, Bucharest, Romania, and I spend some time at Empirical Inference department led by Bernhard Schölkopf of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, Germany.

I previously researched how to obtain models with good inductive biases for reasoning over entities and relations. My past work revolved around Graph Neural Networks and object-centric methods applied in the video domain. Recently, I have been interested in researching out-of-distribution robustness and making connections to invariant learningcausally inspired representation learning, and object-centric methods.
