Jonathan Colaço Carr

I think that AI will be one of the most important factors to the wellbeing of future generations and that it’s essential to understand how this technology operates in the real world.

My research focuses on how sequential decision-making agents learn in large, unknown environments. I’m particularly interested in designing learning goals that align with human objectives, driving me to explore the intersection of Reinforcement Learning (RL) from Human Feedback and Continual RL. Additionally, I’m participating in Mila’s Trustworthy & Responsible AI in Research program.

Outside of Mila, I’ve worked on AltaML’s applied AI team, developed deep learning models at the McGill Space Institute and taken the OFTW pledge.
