Join Mila and CEIMIA for the launch of Towards Substantive Equality in Artificial Intelligence: Transformative AI Policy for Gender Equality and Diversity, a landmark policy report and companion guide stemming from an initiative in the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI). This half-day hybrid event will gather global leaders, policymakers, and community representatives to present key recommendations for inclusive AI ecosystems and to explore promising practices in AI governance.
AI advancements are reshaping industries and economies worldwide. Yet, growing inequalities and limited diversity in AI ecosystems risk overshadowing the knowledge, perspectives and needs of women and other historically marginalized groups. This new report and policy guide, anchored in a human rights-based framework and global consultations with community-led perspectives, offer actionable recommendations to confront these challenges. This launch event will foster dialogue through panels and interactive discussions on practical steps to make AI ecosystems more equitable, inclusive, and beneficial for all.
