Biography
Anna Vartanyan is a climate change and sustainability expert with over fifteen years of experience in the field.
Her role is to develop and implement AI-based strategies for addressing climate change and environmental sustainability in order to maximize Mila’s global impact and leadership in this field.
Prior to joining Mila, she worked for various UN agencies, including UNEP, UNDP and FAO, where she oversaw the development of environmental projects, consulted on national strategies, and worked on climate/environmental policies across the globe.
She has a master’s degree in political science and international relations with a specialization in climate change. After graduating she taught environmental politics at the Abo Akademi University in Finland, winning its “Best International Teacher” award in 2009–2010.
