Following undergraduate studies in both biology and computer sciences, Sébastien Lemieux obtained his Ph.D. in computer sciences (U. de Montréal, 2002) by developing graph theory-based algorithms for predicting three-dimensional structures of ribonucleic acids. During his postdoctoral training in the biotech industry (Elitra Inc. / Merck & Co), he contributed novel methodologies for functional genome annotation, statistical analysis of DNA microarrays and drug target identification.
