Phong X. Nguyen

Phong is currently a visiting researcher at Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, and directed by A.M. Turing Award Winner, professor Yoshua Bengio. At Mila, he is working with Prof. Yoshua Bengio and Prof. Aaron Courville in couple projects in disentanglement, anomaly detection, and reinforcement learning. He has 7 years working as industrial AI researcher for Hitachi, based in Tokyo, Japan. His topics were applying machine learning for human activity recognition, automatic control for industrial plants, robotics, etc. He is also consulting organizations in Vietnam to develop AI strategy and grow AI talents. Phong graduated his Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013.
