Head of Communications and Public Relations for MILA

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Communications and Public Affairs provides strategic communications support across the organization. He works in collaboration with the management team to manage the communications issues of the MILA activities.

The main functions include:

  •  Develop an internal and external communications strategy for MILA
  •  Contribute to the creation, development and use of internal and external communication tools to support the mission, goals and objectives of the organization
  •  Public relations / public affairs management to promote MILA
  •  Work with an advertising agency on the evolution of the logo and a new visual identity for MILA
  •  Feed a social media strategy, and provide the necessary support to researchers and students
  •  Update and dynamize the content of the Web page and all communication tools
  •  Produce internal and external content for a variety of communication means and tactics including social media, press releases, publications,
  •  Provide support to the management team on an ad hoc basis for various conferences and presentations
  •  Act as a point of contact for the media


  •  Bachelor’s degree (in marketing, communications or journalism)
  •  5 to 7 years of experience or more in communications with proven experience in public affairs, media relations
  •  Political sensitivity and ability to think strategically
  •  Knowledge of web editing tools
  •  Action-oriented and easy to learn
  •  Ability to work under pressure and manage many priorities
  • Team spirit
  •  Good knowledge of the academic and scientific environment
